- Develop diversified strategies to reduce fossil fuel use and carbon emissions from motorized vehicles on campus
- Maintain sustainability-sensitive materials purchasing and disposal practices
- Maintain attractive, native landscapes on campus through environmentally friendly means
- Ensure that hazardous chemicals are safely stored, used and disposed
- Promote sustainable development projects to benefit NAU and the Greater Flagstaff community
- Use the "campus as ecosystem concept" across the curriculum to educate faculty and students about sustainability
